01The migration

We were water.

Sui gave us droplets. Liquid is generous: it moves, it merges, it takes the shape of whatever is holding it. It also has no structure of its own, and every droplet is exactly like every other droplet.

Freezing is not a loss. Water releases energy when it crystallises, 334 joules for every gram, and it settles into an order it could never hold as a liquid. Six directions, one rule, and no two results alike.

We are migrating to Robinhood to freeze. Deeper liquidity, a larger community, and a chain that gives the structure somewhere to hold.

02How it is built

No part of a snowflake knows what a snowflake looks like.

Every cell of a growing crystal follows the same instruction, applied to the six cells around it. There is no blueprint and no centre issuing orders. The shape you recognise is what that one instruction does at scale.

Machine intelligence works the same way. No single weight in a model knows the answer; the answer is what the weights do together. SnowOn is being built on that principle rather than decorated with it: small local actions, checkable on their own, composing into behaviour nobody wrote down.

The crystal beside this text is not a video. It is Reiter's model for snow crystal growth running live, three constants on a hexagonal lattice, and you can move the constants yourself.

03Partners

Crystals grow at the edges.

SnowOn is being built with an unannounced partner, an AI Skills platform. A Skill is a discrete capability: something the protocol can be taught to do, packaged so it can be attached, composed and replaced without redesigning anything underneath it.

That is how a crystal adds mass. New structure arrives at the growth front, never at the core, and every addition has to be compatible with the lattice that is already there.

04The asset

That function is not finalised. We would rather publish it late than publish it wrong, so this page will keep saying so until there is something true to put here.

Growth stages

Ukichiro Nakaya grew the first artificial snow crystals in 1936 and called them letters sent from the sky. He also showed that a crystal's form is decided by the conditions it grows in, which is a more honest roadmap than a list of quarters.
